Academics

Sheridan Community Schools takes pride in providing all students with many academic, vocational and community experiences.

We offer an Early Childhood program for students three to five years of age that are developmentally delayed.  We offer programs for students in grades K-12 that have learning disabilities from severe to profound.

Our special education department offers resource rooms, self-contained special education classrooms and inclusionary general education classrooms for students than can be successful in that setting.

SCS offers speech and language therapy, occupational, physical and adaptive physical education therapy.  If other services are needed for our students we have access to "specialized" staff through our Hamilton/Boone/Madison Co-operative.

A gifted and talented program, SOAR (Striving for Optimum Academic Reward), facilitates accelerated learning experiences to students in grades 2-12.  Students progress through the curriculum practicing advanced problem solving techniques and acquiring skills that contribute to other academic successes, such as earning an Academic Honors Diploma.

We strive to provide many opportunities for our community, not only to be excellent students but productive citizens that make SCS proud!
