SafeVisitor Entry
In an effort to constantly improve and enhance school safety, we are implementing the SafeVisitor system beginning August 6, 2019. This new comprehensive system will enhance our school entrance security and better ensure that every visitor to our schools is permitted and authorized to be in our school buildings.
We will have two levels of access, Visitors and Volunteers.
Visitors will need to present a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID upon each check-in at our school offices which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All approved visitors will receive a temporary badge to be worn inside the building during each visit.
Examples of Visitor level access include:
·Lunch Guests·Classroom parties
·Classroom Guest Speakers
·Special Events (Grandparent’s Day/Famous Hoosiers/etc.)
·School Programs during the school day
Volunteers working directly with students will require a formal expanded background check in order to work directly with our students. This will include:
Social Security Verification Check
Address Verification Check
National Criminal Database Check
National Sex Offender Registry Check
County Criminal Check
Indiana Participating Database Check
ArrestAlert Monitoring
This background check can be started by clicking the link below and will take approximately 3-5 days to process, so please be sure to plan ahead if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. You will be charged $15.95, payable with a credit card. The background check will be valid for three years. If you have completed a Volunteer background check during the 2018-2019 school year and been approved, your information will be imported into the new system and you will not need to fill out a new request at this time.

Once approved, please be on the lookout for a badge notification email from “.” Your badge will be attached as a PDF. You can either print it, save it on your phone, or download the SafeVisitor app. A photo will be required and added upon your first visit to the school. You will use the badge or app for check-in at our school offices throughout the term of your approval.
What to expect when entering the school:
Visitors will be required to present a valid photo ID which may include a driver's license, state-issued photo ID, or passport. Your ID will be scanned upon arrival and a temporary visitor badge with your photo will be issued to you. All visitors must return to the main office and check-out at the front desk, returning their badge at the end of their visit.
Volunteers will need their SafeVisitor badge (either printed or via the SafeVisitor app on your mobile phone). Your badge will be scanned upon arrival and a temporary volunteer badge will be issued to you that must be visibly worn at all times. All volunteers must return to the main office and check-out at the front desk, returning their temporary badge at the end of their visit.
